CJC students take top paper awards at Southeast Colloquium
Doctoral students Andrea Hall, Lauren Darm Furey and Rich Shumate won top student paper awards at the AEJMC’s 40th annual Southeast Colloquium, held March 26-28 in Knoxville, Tenn.
Hall and Darm Furey won in the Newspaper and Online Division for their study, Mum’s the Word: A Content Analysis of Frames Used on Parents Who Have Left Children in Hot Cars. Shumate won in the open division for his paper, Division and Attraction: Negative Political Advertising and the Increased Popularity of Politically Opinionated Programming.
CJC students Jordan Neil, Ginger Blackstone and Tiffany Schweickart also presented at the conference, as did Dr. Clay Calvert.
