<p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and delivery skills, strong news judgment, must have strong writing skills which includes copy not just for on-air stories, but for the internet as well.  Excellent presentation and reporting skills.  Must be able to shoot and edit.  Must have knowledge of television news photography including lighting scenes for video taping and ability to gather information and conduct interviews in the field and on-scene at breaking news events.  Work with producers to package news stories.  Sound knowledge of current events.  Ability to meet deadlines is a must.</p>

<p><b>Experience:</b></p>
</div>
<p>Minimum 1 year experience as a photojournalist and reporter preferred.</p>

<p><b>Duties:</b></p>
</div>
<p>Generate and write stories for broadcast on-air and for the internet, report on a variety of topics, shoot and videotape news stories and edit.  Drive station vehicle to news events.  Lift camera and associated equipment, write, shoot and edit news stories and packages.</p>

News Producer</p>
<p><b>Details:</b><br />
Will be responsible to organize the program format, direct production staff and<br />
on-air talent in their duties, write portions of the program, supervise editing and dubbing of the tapes and time the broadcast. Be creative, organized, a good writer and have the ability to communicate effectively with reporters, the assignment desk and other news staff.</p>
<p>Will work directly with news department executives in the planning and execution of daily assignment schedules and news programs.</p>
<p><b>Experience:</b><br />
Minimum two years experience in the newsroom.</p>
<p><b>Requirements:</b><br />
College degree in journalism or communications preferred. Must have good news judgment. Must be able to work flexible hours.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://my.jou.ufl.edu/students/files/2013/06/D3S_2456.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-2446" alt="D3S_2456" src="http://my.jou.ufl.edu/students/files/2013/06/D3S_2456-199x300.jpg" width="199" height="300" /></a>Congratulations to <b>Cameron Taylor, TEL 2013</b>,  and the news staff of WUFT-FM!!  For the second year in a row, a UF student has won a National Edward R. Murrow Award.</p>
<p>The Radio Television Digital News Association announced today that Cameron<b> </b>has won the 2013 National Murrow in the Radio Small Market Reporting: Hard News category for his story &#8220;Cedar Key Oyster Industry On the Brink.&#8221;  The RTDNA Murrow Awards honors achievements in electronic journalism; the awards ceremony will be held this October in New York City.  Cameron was competing against professional journalists from across the country.</p>
<p>Last year <b>Steven Gallo, TEL 2013</b>, was honored in the Murrow Radio Small Market Audio News category for his piece on the execution of Manuel Valle for killing Coral Gable&#8217;s police officer Louis Penna.</p>
<p>Cameron&#8217;s piece on the Cedar Key industry also won first place in the Society of Professional Journalists&#8217; Mark of Excellence Awards, Region 3, Radio News Reporting category, and has been designated a national finalist. The national SPJ Mark of Excellence award winners will be announced in August.</p>
<p>In addition, the piece won first place in the Florida Associated Press Broadcasters Award,  Small Market, Radio&#8217;s Hard News Feature category; and the grand prize in the National Broadcasting Society&#8217;s Audio News Segment.</p>
<p>Cameron is currently a reporter at WJHG-TV in Panama City.  Congratulations!!</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>MY TV &#8211; Tampa Bay is offering internships to college students who are interested in careers in Mass Communications, Journalism, Marketing and Advertising. Interns work alongside the station’s staff and produce materials that are used by the station. They emphasize a real world experience for their interns.  Interns are not compensated by the station for their time.</p>
<p>To qualify interns must:<br />
Complete the station’s Internship Application.<br />
Be a Junior or Senior majoring in a field related to TV in an accredited school.<br />
Receive academic credit for the internship.</p>
